As April showers prepare us for a greener spring, and we celebrate Earth Day with community partners, we’ve been reflecting a lot on this year’s Earth Day theme: Our Power, Our Planet. At Blueprint, we’ve always believed in the power land has to heal and reconnect us to our roots. We foster that reconnection and realization in youth with every invasive species removed and every tree planted. Tending to the land isn’t just for the earth, but for each and every single one of us. Together, we’re making it possible for our families and future generations to enjoy cleaner air and a healthier environment.

📣 Join The Blueprint Foundation! We're Hiring Program Assistants 📣 |
The Blueprint Foundation is expanding, and now is your chance to join the team! We’re looking to onboard three new Program Assistants to join our W.I.S.E and Workforce Development Departments. The W.I.S.E Team (Grounding Waters and Sowing Seeds) is hiring two Program Assistants to support their year-round outdoor activities for middle- and high-school-aged youth. If you’re passionate about working directly with youth, curating new activities, and building partnerships, this opportunity is for you. Our Workforce Development Team (Change is in the Air and Connecting Canopies) is hiring one Workforce Program Assistant to support cohorts of high school and young adult participants as they gain entry-level green sector job skills through project-based activities. If you love environmental restoration, equipping BIPOC communities with job-readiness skills, and supporting curriculum development, this is your chance to shine!

🌎 4 Ways to Support The Blueprint Foundation During Earth Month 🌎 |
1. Get Involved: Tired of having FOMO from seeing our weekly program recaps on Instagram? Put that fear to rest and join us in uplifting the youth in our programs! We are actively seeking industry professionals to share their wisdom and expertise through our in-school networking luncheon program, Sowing Seeds. However, if you’re looking to get your hands dirty and mentor young students through our Grounding Waters program, keep an eye out for future mentor recruitment announcements. |
2. Attend Our Community Events: In March, Blueprint hosted its first-ever Community Education Event through our Change is in the Air Program. These quarterly, student-led events provide youth with leadership and public speaking opportunities as they engage community members in meaningful conversations and reflections about air pollution and mitigation efforts. If you missed it, don’t worry, the next event is coming in June — stay tuned!

3. Participate in Our BottleDrop Campaign: This Earth Week (April 15-26), The Blueprint Foundation is participating in Oregon Bottle Drop’s 6th Annual Earth Week Give. Every dollar raised through bottle and can returns can earn a 20% match from BottleDrop Give. How does it work? Pick up BottleDrop Blue Bags from Blueprint, fill them, and return to any BottleDrop location, or donate directly through your BottleDrop Green Bag account by visiting our page here. Make a difference, one bottle or can at a time!

Make a Gift to Support Our Impact: Since the very beginning, Blueprint has strived to bridge barriers to participation by offering transportation, mentorship and training, meals, supplies, and paid opportunities free of charge. In order to keep giving back to the community, we need your help!
