The Blueprint Foundation team is gearing up for a jam-packed summer, and we’re looking to onboard three new Program Assistants to join our W.I.S.E and Workforce Development departments. The W.I.S.E Team (Grounding Waters and Sowing Seeds) is hiring two Program Assistants to support their year-round outdoor activities for middle- and high-school-aged youth. If you’re passionate about working directly with youth, curating new activities, and building partnerships, this opportunity is for you. Applications will be accepted until June 30th. Our Workforce Development Team (Change is in the Air and Connecting Canopies) is hiring one Workforce Program Assistant to support cohorts of high school and young adult participants as they gain entry-level green sector job skills through project-based activities. If you love environmental restoration, equipping BIPOC communities with job-readiness skills, and supporting curriculum development, this is your chance to shine! Applications for this role will be accepted until June 15th.

In the past few months, Grounding Waters has welcomed new students and mentors to our Saturday outings. We’ve spent time engaging in land stewardship with Kindness Farms, the Back 5 at Leach Botanical Garden, and other green spaces across the Portland Metro area. |
Sowing Seeds is close to wrapping up another successful school year. We’re proud to announce two Cleveland High School participants were awarded with full-ride scholarships to their dream colleges—highlighting strong student achievement. |
Cohort 5 of Connecting Canopies is officially underway! We welcomed 10 new participants to join us for our first transformation project in Vancouver, Washington. The Cohort is learning to tackle an overgrown yard, turning it into a climate-resilient space that promotes pollinators and wildlife. |

This May, The Blueprint Foundation and Columbia Slough Watershed Council kicked off our first plant sale fundraiser with Sparrowhawk Native Plants! At Level Beer in NE Portland, we sold over 8,000 native plants through pre-orders and Saturday’s flash sale. It was an incredible two-day event that shared knowledge about native plants and the important work each of our organizations is doing. If you were able to pre-order a plant, swing by during the plant sale, or order one of our new garden trowels — thank you! It's through the power of community that we can continue giving back to the next generation of environmental stewards. If you didn’t get to pre-order plants or swing by during the plant sale, don’t sweat it. It's that time of year! Our Change is in the Air program is seeking high school-aged youth to spend the summer learning about environmental monitoring and public engagement. As a Community Scientist 1, you will engage with your peers, scientists, and advocates to build and maintain air quality monitors, leveraging cultural expertise to identify new neighborhoods for monitoring while addressing community questions. |
📅 When: July 6 - August 21 (Monday - Thursday)
🕓 Time: 9am - 3pm (times may vary for field trip days)
🏦 Rate: $18/hour, 24 hours a week (paid once a month)

Ash Creek Forest Management is seeking applicants for their Summer 2026 Habitat Restoration Apprenticeship. This is a full-time, paid position at $18.50/hour from June 29th through August 21st, 2026. As an emerging professional in natural resources and habitat restoration, you will gain hands-on skills and training, networking, and mentorship from professionals.
