We’ve officially started the second week of our Sparrowhawk Native Plant Pop-Up Sale with Columbia Slough Watershed Council. In just one week, we sold out of 30 plant species — but don’t worry, there’s still 90 more to choose from! Proceeds from sales made at Level Beer in NE Portland support The Blueprint Foundation and Columbia Slough’s slough-based projects, including our annual Vanport Stewardship Event, which connects students to the watershed’s history while addressing the disenfranchisement of Black communities following the 1948 floods through environmental restoration. Shop the sale until March 29th to promote wildlife, pollinators, and our organizations!

The Blueprint Foundation is hosting our first Community Education Event on Saturday, March 21st. Join us for an afternoon of knowledge sharing with community partners, Neighbors for Clean Air and Multnomah County. Enjoy presentations by Blueprint students on air quality issues and mitigation efforts, and participate in a hands-on DIY air filter activity! |

Are you looking for a way to skill up while making a difference in your community? Now’s your chance. We’re seeking applicants to join Cohort Five of Connecting Canopies! Connecting Canopies prepares BIPOC young adults from underserved and underrepresented communities for meaningful careers in the environmental and green‑sector fields. Through a project‑based learning model, participants gain real‑world experience by rehabilitating community spaces and residential properties, restoring local ecosystems, and improving environmental health in the neighborhoods they call home.

🌱 Grounding Waters is Seeking New Students and Mentors! 🌱 |
If you’re interested in getting involved in a hands-on, nature-based mentorship program, then you’re in luck! Our legacy program, Grounding Waters, is expanding, and we’re seeking new students and mentors to join us for our weekly Saturday outings. This year-round program strengthens connection to land and identity while exposing participants to green careers that urgently need greater representation and access. Through multi-generational mentoring, civic engagement, and environmental restoration, youth explore sustainability, green building, and STEM pathways while building leadership skills and confidence.

Depave is seeking applicants for two positions. Site Stewardship Contractor: Help pilot Depave’s new stewardship model by catalyzing local communities of care around neighborhood green spaces. This initial contract is designed for an estimated workload of 30 hrs per week for 6 months, at an estimated $40/hr total or around $28,800. Friends of Trees is seeking a Green Friendly Yards Project Manager. The Green Friendly Yards (GFY) Project Manager will lead the launch and implementation of the Green Infrastructure Pilot, a new green initiative developed and led by Friends of Trees. This pilot project is part of the broader Energy Friendly Homes (EFH) Program, a program operated by Evergreen Energy Partners and funded by the Portland Clean Energy Fund. Annual salary set at $68,000.

This summer, Ash Creek is launching a Summer Habitat Restoration Apprenticeship Program. This program serves young adults (ages 18-24) who've experienced adversity. Participants will gain hands-on habitat restoration skills and training, network with industry professionals, and receive mentorship from field experts. This is a full-time, paid position at $18.50 per hour. Applications open April 24th, 2026.
